Topics like this post – “Things I’m trying to do better in 2023”- always make me uncomfortable. Because the title is about me – is not necessarily business and I LOVE talking about business, but me, not so much.

But, one thing I am trying to do better is step FURTHER outside my comfort zone and this blog is a move in that direction.

That said, I’ll move the question on to you too!

Ok, back to me (yikes!).

Things I am trying to do better in 2023.

1. Task Scheduling – I have a lot of arms needed to be running my two businesses (the marketing coaching business and the e-commerce business www.spendwithus.com.au ), a lot of income streams and I find myself chopping and changing between tasks and business throughout my week. In 2023 I am doing my scheduling of time – Monday will be x only, Friday will be x only and so on.  I am hoping it will make me more productive and more, frankly, happy!  Because sometimes I frustrate the hell out of myself!
2. I want to be more in my role as a Business and Incubator Advisor – which actually means helping start-ups. I have a few roles with local, state and federal government bodies that fund Advisors for start-ups, and I want to do more of that.  So I have opened my diary up more for those bookings – from 2 days to 3.
3. I am going to do me better.  I have started off well – attending yoga and personal training 2 times a week in January, I also want to do a massage once a month, do something a bit special each month with a friend or hubby or with one of my children, whether that be a special dinner out trying a new restaurant, go shopping (basically having a day out doing not much), spending some hours at places like spas or salt rooms or whatever. I just want it to be something special.  In January we hired one of the local barbie boats and spent a day in the water, and another evening doing barefoot bowls! It was so fun – you should try it!  I have sectioned out a whole day in my diary not to work and to focus on these “cup filling” activities – so let’s see how that goes!
4. Business me – I want to level her up too! I ran a planning session with 20 wonderful women in January and I also went through the workbook myself and really fleshed out those BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOALS (BHAGs) I had.  Now it’s time to chase the sun and get them.  One or two BIG goals is enough for the first half of the year – I’ll let you know more as I set them in motion!  But I need to make time for them, as they just won’t’ happen automatically or magically!  AND I have booked myself in with an accountability coach to keep me on track this year – make sure I do what I say I will do!  If you need one of those, too – let me know, I’d love to chat with you about that.  It’s one of my zones of genius – just not for myself!
5. Partnerships and Collaborations – I want to not necessarily do these better in 2023, as I have done them well in the past, but I do want to do more of them.  There’s a couple in the pipeworks right now and if you follow me on socials, you will start to see exactly what they are!  This, I am excited about!
6. Research, tech and futurist investigation. If you’re a long time listener of my podcast or follower on socials, you will know that I have gone deep on blockchain, NFTs, social coin etc, and loved learning new things and what the future of marketing could look like.  And if you’ve listened to last week’s podcast episode, you will know it’s time now for me to go deep into Ai and tech.  So much out there and so much to make our business lives simpler.  I have no choice but to do this – I need to uplevel so I can help you too!

There’s loads more I want to do better but this is my starting point.  These are the things that light me up and make me excited for the year ahead.  The first month was good – so let’s see how I carrying myself for the next 11!
