Hey there, my amazing listener, welcome and thank you for tuning into episode 292 of the Small Business Made Simple Podcast.
Welcome to April! This month, the theme is business basics. The basics things you need to know about business, to be successful. Maybe you’ve been in business for a while, but don’t be fooled sometimes going back to basics is exactly what you need to do to move forward.
But before we get into today’s episode, I just wanted to talk about how I can help you in business. Whether you’re after an Hour of Power – just need my brain for 1 hour to get answers to questions or get some accountability or refocus, or you’re after some one to one coaching or perhaps you need a keen marketing eye to look over your socials, your website, your email marketing strategy and so on and need an audit with suggestions and ideas – then I’d love to help! Of course, I also have my Nine Week Marketing Transformation Program and don’t forget the book – Small Town Big Impact! All these ways to help you with your marketing and more are available on my website www.socialmediaandmarketing.com.au
I’d love the chance to work with you because I know you are an action taker because you listen to this action-taking podcast! Reach out and let’s chat about how I can help you move your business forward even faster.
So, as mentioned April is about business basics and today, I have a guest who, mind you, thinks marketing has gone rogue and we need to do more sales less marketing! I know, right and I still let her come on the podcast!
In all seriousness though, I love having conversations with people who are as passionate about sales as I am about marketing. In fact, if you’re super keen to hear more than this podcast chat with Frances Pratt – who is my guest today – her and I did a LinkedIn live on this very subject, except we both got to put our cases forward. Fancy thinking marketing has gone rogue!
The problem Frances sees is that ‘sales’ has become a word that businesses and people shy away from. Why? Because it has been disconnected from the deep understanding of the value relationship between business and their customers.
In addition to her sales work in many businesses, Frances has completed a Graduate Certificate in Change Management and an MBA from Melbourne Business School. Coupled with her hands-on sales experience, these have helped her create a toolbox of techniques to help businesses better understand themselves and their customers.
As a business owner and company director, Frances understands the pressures of juggling cash flow, staffing and business administration, and often you’re the only person making it all work.
But sales is her passion and that’s exactly what we are going to talk about today. When it comes to Business Basics, getting sales is probably high on the list right?!?!
Here’s my chat with Frances.
