This one’s a life lesson and a business lesson. Y This one’s a life lesson and a business lesson. You need to take 100% responsibility for your actions, and your results. Not in a “blame yourself for everything” way.
In a “you’re more powerful than you think” way.Because the moment you own it, you can change it.
Your habits. Your standards. Your time. Your mindset. Your next move. That’s where momentum lives.Be Amazing … Always - J x
October is usually when the noise gets louder. Mor October is usually when the noise gets louder.
More offers. More pressure. More “last chance” energy. This infographic is a reminder that trust, not tactics, is what actually carries businesses through the end of the year and into the next.Trust is built quietly, over time, through things like:
✔️ clarity and consistency
✔️ keeping your word
✔️ showing up without pushing
✔️ listening more than you talk
✔️ putting relationships before reachIn October, when everyone’s trying to sell harder, this is often the moment to slow down and ask:
“Are we making it easy for people to trust us?”Because when trust is strong, sales don’t need to shout. If your marketing needs help in 2026 and you want to build trust that lasts beyond this quarter, get in touch.👉 www.socialmediaandmarketing.com.au📧 jenn@jenndonovan.com.auSubject line: HELP JENN!Trust is the most underrated marketing strategy there is.
Today is one of those days I wish was louder. Int Today is one of those days I wish was louder.International Day of Rural Women is on Thursday 15th October 2026, and it exists to honour the essential, often unrecognised role women play in agriculture, food systems, and rural community resilience. These women are the backbone of food security.
They’re drivers of sustainability.
They’re the reason communities keep moving forward, even when the season is tough, the costs are up, and the help is thin on the ground. And yet, the gender gaps are still real.Access to land, technology, finance, opportunities, and support systems… rural women are still far more likely to have to fight harder for less. This day matters because it’s not just about recognition, it’s about action. And in 2026, it matters even more because the FAO has recognised 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer. So today I want you to do something simple.Think of the rural women you know.
The ones raising families, running farms, running businesses, building communities, doing the work, then doing more work.Celebrate them.
Support them.
Buy from them.
Recommend them.
Tell them you see them.Let’s celebrate all the rural women we know, love, and love again.
Some of the best businesses I know are also some o Some of the best businesses I know are also some of the hardest businesses to find. And I think that's a problem.I'm talking about the brilliant tradie who has more work than they can handle because everyone in town knows their name. The little regional retailer that locals absolutely love. The tourism operator who delivers an incredible experience once you actually discover they exist. The consultant who's built an entire business on referrals. The family business that's been around for 30 years and has never really needed to “do marketing”.These businesses are often very, very good at what they do.They've built their reputation on word of mouth, loyal customers, relationships and doing great work. But here's the problem. The way people find businesses has changed.Your next customer might not ask their neighbour for a recommendation. They might Google it.Search on social media.Check reviews.Ask AI.Look at your website.Or do all five before they ever contact you.And if you don't show up in those places, being brilliant at what you do isn't necessarily enough.Because word of mouth is powerful. But word of mouth followed by being impossible to find is a problem. It's why one of the topics I'm taking to stages in 2027 is:Great at What You Do. Terrible at Being Found. It's about helping good businesses close the gap between the reputation they've built offline and what customers discover about them online. Not by doing MORE marketing for the sake of doing more marketing. But by making sure that when someone goes looking for what you do...they actually find you.Because if they can't find you, they can't buy from you.And if you're planning a conference, business event, industry program or professional development day for 2027, this is one of the conversations I'd love to bring to your audience. My new 2027 Speaker Kit is now live, with my keynotes, workshops and masterclasses for the year ahead.Have a peek here → https://bit.ly/2027SpeakerKitJenn
HOW MUCH LONGER? I don't think I've ever felt mor HOW MUCH LONGER?I don't think I've ever felt more connected to an International Women's Day theme in my life.UN Women Australia has announced How Much Longer? as its theme for International Women's Month 2027.And my goodness, does that question hit hard.Because in 2026, heading into 2027, I feel like it's the question every woman I know is asking. How much longer until women can walk home without fear? How much longer until women stop being killed by people who are supposed to love them? How much longer until we're paid equally, valued equally and given the same opportunities? How much longer until women don't have to work twice as hard to be heard, believed or respected? How much longer until our daughters and granddaughters don't have to fight the same battles?I'm tired of hearing that progress takes time.I'm tired of celebrating women's achievements while women are still fighting for the basics. Safety. Respect. Equality. Opportunity. A voice. But here's what I love about this theme. It's not just a question for women. It's for governments. Employers. Leaders. Our legal systems. Organisations that talk about equality but don't practise it.It's for men who believe in equality but remain silent. And it's for all of us who know things need to change but keep waiting for someone else to do it.International Women's Day should celebrate extraordinary women. Absolutely. But in 2027, I want more.Less applause for how resilient women are. More questions about WHY they have to be so resilient.Less telling women they can be anything. More removing the barriers stopping them.Less talking about change. More actually changing things. So here's my challenge to EVERY organisation planning an International Women's Day event in 2027.Make HOW MUCH LONGER? your theme.Ask it of your speakers. Your leaders. Your audience.Because we don't need another IWD where we leave inspired for a few hours and return to the same conversations. We need action. Accountability. Change. It's 2026. We're heading into 2027.And quite frankly, we've waited long enough.HOW. MUCH. LONGER?
