Hey there, my fabulous listener, welcome to episode 101 of the Small Business Made Simple Podcast.
Thank you for lending me your ears today – I know you have lots of choices, so I sincerely appreciate me being one of them!
If you’re a first time listener, super super welcome, I am so pleased to have you here. I am your host Jenn Donovan, and it’s my job, via this podcast, social media and everywhere else actually, to make your business life simpler.
I’m a thought leader when it comes to marketing here in Australia and I’m a marketing strategist for small business.
Why? Because business can be lonely and hard and complicated and it’s hardly ever easy, but it should be simple or at least simpler, so that’s my commitment you to on the Small Business Made Simple podcast!
One way I help to make your life simpler is by having a group of like-minded business owners all in one stop. To ask questions, get answers and enjoy the journey of business! If you haven’t joined the Like Minded Business Owners Facebook Group, then hope over there after this episode and join! Today we are chatting finances – yep money! Because let’s not beat around the bush, we all need it, we all want more of it and earning it is why we are in business.
Of course, without it we are up a creek in a canoe without a paddle!
And because finances aren’t my jam – I’ve got a special guest on today, Kerry Zarb from Zinc Solutions.
Kerry is a Xero specialist. Xero is, in case you’re not sure, a financial computer program that’s probably one of the most popular with it comes to small businesses needing a program to put all the financial data into.
She’s also a BAS agent/Bookkeeper, providing support to SME’s from cashflow to budgets and all ATO compliance needs.
Basically, Kerry takes the headache out of running your small business with over 20 years of business experience.
Whether you love finances or don’t – and I admittedly swing both ways over time. In fact, I have an (almost) accounting degree and figures when I had my retail business were 100% the thing that lit me up – but oh so NOT anymore – marketing is much more fun – we need to have a handle on them.
But for some, it’s all too much and that’s totally fine – which is why it’s lucky that people like Kerry exist in the world – to take away the pain of finances.
So, of us just simply need to outsource this stuff and stay on top of our game.
I loved out chat, about bookkeeping, how to find a good bookkeeper, how do you know if they are a bookkeeper and why you need a bookkeeper when you’ve already got an Accountant.
Listen in, there’s some gold for sure.
Without holding you up anymore, here’s Kerry and I chatting finances!
INTERVIEW WITH KERRY ZARB
I hope that episode really resonated with you.
If you’re not a lover of finances, it can be daunting and hard to get your head around – enter the Kerry’s of the world!
As mentioned, all her links are in the show notes at www.socialmediaandmarketing.com.au/101 but Zinc Solutions and Kerry Zarb – they’re fairly unique, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding them!
Well, that’s it for episode 101/
