How to Humanise Your Brand in the Age of AI – Podcast Episode 367

Hey there, my friend, welcome to episode 367 of the Small Business Made Simple Podcast.

Thanks for leading me your ears right now – I know you have lots of other things you could be doing or listening to – so I appreciate you.

I want to start with a small-ish apology. Apparently running a conference by yourself is a lot of work … who know right ….??!?! And my podcast has been a little ignored and then slapped with whole heap of repurposed (but still valuable) pieces of content and hasn’t really been given the love it deserves for a month now.

Now you might think that today’s episode might be about the conference – some take ways, some lessons, some highlights but alas it’s not. Honestly, I don’t have the words to put around it as yet. But I will. I will do a podcast chat about it … eventually.

In fact, there are HUGE changes coming to this podcast in coming weeks – towards the end of September. So, stay tuned and be the first to know.

Otherwise, I hope you will enjoy the next few weeks of great interviews I have lined up for you from amazing specialists in their field, like today’s guest Fiona Killackey from My Daily Business.

Fiona is all about building a business that supports your life, not overtakes it, and enjoy what you do every day. So, I know you are going to love this chat with her.

Fiona Killackey is the founder of My Daily Business, a business coaching and education company helping entrepreneurs build values-aligned brands without the hustle. With a background spanning fashion journalism, publishing, Amazon, Audible, and brand marketing, she’s also the author of Passion, Purpose, Profit and Business to Brand, and a sought-after speaker on branding and human-first marketing.

Three fun facts you’ll hear in this great chat with Fiona are:

  1. Fiona once used AI to plan her family’s weekly grocery shopping—including meal planning and budgeting down to which brand of cheese to buy at Aldi!
  2. Early in her career, Fiona landed a magazine editor role after starting as an intern—because the previous editor quit and personally recommended her for the job.
  3. Fiona wrote books on business that were later picked up and produced as audiobooks on Audible, which was especially meaningful since she used to work at Audible.

I hope you really enjoyed that chat – Fiona was so generous with her knowledge and wisdom.

My big takeaway – use AI wisely and intentionally as a support tool, but always keep your human voice, values, and authentic connections at the centre of your business. But you know that!

And if we aren’t hanging out on social media then let’s get social on social – you’ll find me on Instagram, Facebook, and my fav LinkedIn.

But whatever you do,

…….. remember small business peep, as my opening song says, there’s no point in dreaming small!
