Are You Ready for Zero-Click Content? Let’s Talk Algorithms

Today we’re diving into something that’s changing the way we create, consume, and measure content.

Let me ask you this: How often do you actually click on a link these days?

If your answer is “Not often, Jenn!”—you’re not alone.

We’re living in the age of zero-click content. Where people consume everything, they need without ever clicking through to a website, a blog, or even your bio link.

And if that sounds like terrible news for your marketing—it’s actually not. Stick with me, because we’re going to unpack how algorithms love zero-click content, why your business can still thrive in this new era, and what you can do right now to lean into it instead of fighting it.

So, what exactly is zero-click content?

Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like—content that delivers value right there, on the platform, without the user needing to click anything.

Think about:

  • An Instagram carousel that teaches you something in 5 slides.
  • A LinkedIn post with all the insight, no link.
  • A Facebook post that shares a story, tip or list—no “read more” required.
  • Even a YouTube Short or TikTok that gives a full tutorial in under a minute.

It’s the kind of content that respects people’s time, gives them the goods up front, and fits into how they’re actually using platforms today—fast, scrollable, low effort.

So why are algorithms prioritising this type of content. Algorithms—those mysterious beasts we all love to hate.

Here’s the thing: platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok want people to stay on their app. The longer someone scrolls, watches, reads, or engages, the more ads the platform can show them. That’s how they make their money.

It’s their business model.

So, if your content encourages someone to leave the platform—for example, “click here to read my blog!”—you’re not exactly helping the algorithm.

BUT—if you give people the full value right there in the feed? The algorithm gives you a big ol’ high five. That’s what we mean by zero-click content working with the algorithm, not against it.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking…

“But Jenn, if no one’s clicking my links, how do I actually get sales?”

Great question—and I promise, zero-click doesn’t mean zero conversions.

Because your audience might not click today, but they will remember you when they’re ready.

This is what I call trust-building content. You’re showing up, giving value, being helpful, being human. You’re becoming top of mind.

And when they do finally think, “Right, I need a coach/speaker/product like that”—guess who they remember? Yep. You.

So don’t stress about the click. Focus on the connection.

Here’s how to create content that wins the scroll and earns trust:

  1. Share the full idea, not just the teaser

Stop holding back. Instead of “click here to learn more”, just share the tip. Make it complete, right there in the caption or carousel. I know I need to do this better – so this episode as I am recording, is reinforcing some changes I need to make too!

  1. Use storytelling and value side-by-side

Your story is the hook; your value is the payoff. Share lessons learned, real client experiences, or even things that went a bit pear-shaped. Be human.

  1. Format matters
  • Bullet points for skimmers
  • Carousels for curiosity
  • Short videos with captions
  • Infographics or tip graphics
Make it easy to absorb, because most people are multi-tasking while scrolling.
  1. Think “Would I save this?”

Zero-click content should be worth saving, screenshotting or sharing. That’s how it lives longer than just 24 hours on someone’s feed.

Alright, what’s the takeaway from today’s episode?

  1. Zero-click content isn’t scary—it’s smart.
  2. You’re not losing clicks—you’re gaining trust.
  3. The algorithm loves what keeps people engaged—so lean into that.

Remember, your job is to serve your audience, not just to sell to them. If you can do that consistently, with heart and value—they’ll come looking for you when they’re ready.

If you’re ready to start creating content that works with the algorithm and not against it, then let’s chat!

DM me over on Instagram or jump into the Like Minded Business Owners Facebook group—I’d love to hear what kind of zero-click content you’re going to try first.

And if this episode gave you a few lightbulb moments—share it with a business buddy! Help them stop chasing clicks and start building connection.

Thanks for tuning in, and until next week—keep showing up, keep it simple, and as always—make marketing a priority in your business.

FAQs

What is zero-click content?
Zero-click content delivers value directly on the platform—no link-clicking required. Think Instagram carousels, LinkedIn posts, or Facebook tips that give it all away upfront.

Why is no one clicking my social media links anymore?
Because we’re in a scroll-first world. Most users want information instantly—without leaving the app. That’s why zero-click content works better with today’s algorithms.

How do social media algorithms work in 2025?
Algorithms prioritise content that keeps people engaged on their platform. That means posts that are valuable, native, and don’t send people elsewhere.

Can I get leads from content that doesn’t include a link?
Absolutely. Zero-click content builds trust and keeps you top of mind. When someone is ready to buy, they’ll remember the business that showed up with value.

How do I make my social media content work better?
Stop teasing, start teaching. Share full tips in captions, use bullet points, be human, and create content people want to save or share—not just click.
